MHCT Japan: Strengthening Halal Assurance
A Shared Mission for Global Halal Standards
At MHCT, we work closely with our partners to strengthen Halal assurance through practical systems, verified controls, and internationally recognized best practices. During our 10-day Halal Program in Japan (12–21 January 2026), MHCT supported three airline catering organizations in renewing Halal certification across key operating sites—an important signal of disciplined implementation in a high-risk, high-throughput catering environment.
A Milestone Worth Recognizing
MHCT is pleased to share a combined milestone from our recent engagements with:
- AAS Catering Co., Ltd. (Kansai)
- ANA Catering Service Co., Ltd. (Narita, Haneda, Kawasaki)
- TFK Corporation (Narita)
Together, these renewals reinforce consistent Halal integrity across inflight catering workflows—where tight timelines, complex supply chains, and rigorous hygiene expectations demand strong controls and daily discipline.
Our Role in This Success
We drove this milestone through active, on-the-ground implementation support aligned with MS 1500:2019, focusing on what teams need to execute correctly every day—not only what audits require on paper.
Across the program, MHCT Agency:
- Delivered Halal awareness training tailored to airline inflight catering operations, strengthening shared understanding across teams.
- Implemented a compliance audit program aligned with MS 1500:2019, translating requirements into practical, site-ready controls.
- Strengthened Halal-critical handling from ingredient procurement through storage, preparation, and service—reinforcing integrity at each control point.
Client Updates Across Japan’s Airline Catering Network
AAS Catering Co., Ltd. (Kansai)
In Kansai, MHCT supported AAS Catering Co., Ltd. in renewing Halal certification by reinforcing operational awareness and site discipline. The engagement emphasized consistent control of Halal-critical points and hygiene expectations that protect integrity in fast-moving inflight catering environments.
ANA Catering Service Co., Ltd. (Narita, Haneda, Kawasaki)
MHCT supported ANA Catering Service Co., Ltd. in renewing Halal certification across facilities in Narita, Haneda Airport, and Kawasaki. This multi-site renewal reflects strong coordination, shared standards understanding, and operational consistency across locations.
TFK Corporation (Narita)
We also supported TFK Corporation in renewing Halal certification in Narita, combining tailored Halal awareness training with a structured Halal and hygiene audit approach. This engagement strengthened day-to-day execution by connecting Halal requirements to real operational decisions—from receiving and storage to preparation flow and service readiness.
Why This Matters for Airline Catering
Airline catering teams operate under intense time pressure and strict quality expectations. Halal assurance in this environment depends on clear controls, trained teams, and verified execution.
What this means for inflight catering operations:
- Clearer controls and accountability across Halal-critical points (receipt, segregation, handling, preparation, serving)
- Stronger documentation and traceability to support audit readiness and stakeholder confidence
- Better operational confidence through shared understanding of Halal requirements across teams
- Improved market acceptance through standards-based compliance aligned with MS 1500:2019
The Path Ahead
Renewal is not the finish line—it is a verification point. MHCT remains committed to supporting partners as they sustain compliance, strengthen continuous improvement, and keep teams aligned on the practices that protect Halal integrity under real operational conditions.
