DOST-ITDI Strengthens Halal Compliance in R&D
At MHCT, we support organisations in strengthening Halal compliance through practical systems, recognised standards, and continuous improvement. Our recent engagement with the DOST-ITDI Halal Food and Cosmetics R&D Facility marks another positive milestone in advancing Halal integrity across research and development.
From 03–05 August 2026, MHCT conducted a Halal re-audit at the DOST Complex in Bicutan, Taguig City, covering food, cosmetics, and personal care research operations. The assessment aligned with MS 1500:2019 and MS 2400:2019.
Strengthening Halal Assurance in Research
Led by MHCT Executive Director Prof. Dr. Rafek Saleh and Halal Lead Auditor Dr. Jane B. Tranquilan, the engagement reviewed key areas supporting Halal integrity across the facility, including raw materials, handling and storage, processing, documentation, hygiene, segregation, and operational practices.
The engagement reflected DOST-ITDI’s commitment to maintaining strong Halal compliance, safety, and quality principles throughout its research activities.
For research facilities working across food, cosmetics, and personal care, these controls help build confidence that Halal requirements remain integrated into day-to-day operations and product development.
